GLANTWYMYN AREA - POWYS
Close to Machynlleth, the Glantwymyn area is located in the heart of the beautiful Dyfi valley in North West Powys. The Glantwymyn ward consists of two community council areas, Cadfarch and Glantwymyn, with a population of just over 2000, more than 50% of them able to speak Welsh.
The ward covers an extensive mountainous mountainous area and includes small villages, each with their own identities and features. There is a strong agricultural economy, although people also rely on urban areas for employment opportunities. Villages include Ceinws, Esgairgeiliog, Cwm Llinau, Cemmaes, Llanwrin, Derwenlas, and Aberhosan.
With its great natural beauty, Glantwymyn is within the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere zone, so there are opportunities for outdoor activities and tourism sectors whilst also supporting the health and well-being of local residents.
